Chiropractic adjustment

Adjustments

An "adjustment" is the method in which a Doctor of Chiropractic restores proper biomechanics to a spinal segment or extremity. Any joint in the body can enter into a state of altered biomechanics and affect the nearby nervous system structures. Through the use of various techniques such as Diversified, Gonstead, Activator, Thompson, just to name a few, a Chiropractor will deliver a specific controlled thrust to the affected joint and return it to a proper biomechanical state.

Each Adjustment delivered in our office is specifically chosen for the individual, we do not adapt the patient to our style of adjusting, we are able to change our style of adjusting to meet the patients need

Rehab

Massage

It is generally well known that massage therapy aids in relieving daily stress and improves the range of motion in injured tissues. What is not well known is that we often use it to help remove scar tissue adhesions from tissues injured in accidents and in post surgical cases. Once we help the body remove or break up the scar tissue, the normal linear muscle fibers contract better and we restore or, at least, improve function to that area. Massage therapy is a tremendous adjunct to chiropractic.

Exercise & Nutrition Counseling

These are two of the most important tools we have to increase overall health. Exercise helps us remove toxins, stretch muscles and reduce every day complaints. It also helps our bodies increase the turnover rate of the important internal organ cells that help regulate and filter our system. By increasing the turnover rate of these cells, mutations and degeneration are decreased. Unfortunately, most of us equate exercise with a time consuming and painful process. We have found that this is normally a result of trying to do too much too quickly and from improper form, pace and body position. The right exercises should feel good and, when done correctly, will help the body recover much more quickly. We understand that different people respond better to different types of exercise and that not all people were meant to be professional athletes.

Nutrition is a very powerful tool for health and well being. What we get out of our bodies is very much related to what we put into them. A body that is undernourished or is poorly nourished will not respond well to the everyday stressors that we all encounter. An example of this is a common cold that attacks only a few people in the family or office while skipping the rest. Good nutrition will help a person fight off the microbes that are always in the environment and are waiting for an opportunity to infect a host.
